  SEPT (South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) is one of the largest and highest performing NHS providers in the country of health and social care services for people with mental health problems and people with learning disabilities.

We provide services across Bedfordshire, Essex and Luton and have a budget of approximately £200 million, employ approximately 3,500 people and serve a population of 1.5 million. Unlike acute hospital services, mental health and learning disability services are mainly provided in community settings with defined geographical localities.

PRODIGY has launched a  new set of materials on a range of health topics that are particularly relevant to the health of people with learning disabilities.  They commissioned the leaflets which were written with easy words and pictures, making them suitable to give patients with learning disabilities or anyone who struggles with written information.  Topics include common conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, obesity and thyroid problems.
