It's completely free and really easy to join the library. Then you can straightaway take out:-

We have a wide range of Inclusive Communication resources that you can borrow. All our resources are free with your standard adult library card.

Essex libraries have the full range of Mr. Tumble DVDs along with many other resources, especially for children.

We have many specialist print books, with titles such as 'Road Safety for Makaton Users'. Produced by Newham for the London Accident Prevention Council this is a step by step guide to road safety in Makaton.

There are a range of communication titles for professionals and carers alike. Some are for all ages. Whereas others cover language development in children or after acquired brain injury.

We also have a wide range of Inclusive Communication Equipment that you can borrow. These are free when you join the library as a ICE user. An ICE user is someone who has a learning disability, or is someone who is a parent, a carer, or a professional who is supporting someone with learning disabilities.

We have a range of easy to use digital cameras and camcorders complete with batteries and memory cards. You can borrow these to make your own communication tools.

We also have a range of basic communication aids, such as talking photo-books, which can be borrowed for up to 8 weeks.
